David Corenswet is imagined as two of DC Comics’ most famous versions of evil Superman for James Gunn’s DC Universe. The next film version of Man of Steel is on the way under the name Corenswet. Superman The film will hit theaters in 2025. Intended to focus on a younger version of Superman, Gunn’s film will be the first film to emerge from Chapter 1, “Gods and Monsters.”

While Gunn Superman The film is still in production, there are still many unanswered questions about Corenswet’s film. As the world continues to speculate, Horrific Heroics has shared two pieces of art by DC Universe’s Corenswet as alternate versions of the Man of Tomorrow.

The first piece of Horrible heroic acts shows what Corenswet could potentially look like as Bizarro, better known to DC readers as a failed clone or mirror version of Superman. Although Bizarro has yet to be portrayed on the big screen, he has appeared in numerous live-action films. Superman TV shows including Small city And Superman and Lois.

The other pitch of Horrible heroic acts shows Corenswet as Ultraman, who is Earth-3’s Superman doppelganger and one of the founding members of the Crime Syndicate of America. Ultraman made his live-action debut in Small city season 10, starring Tom Welling as Earth-2’s Clark Luthor, who, despite his numerical designation, was supposed to be the TV show’s version of Earth-3.

Will James Gunn’s DC Universe Movie Explore an Evil Superman Story?

While Gunn confirmed the villain in the Superman Whether the movie is Lex Luthor, there are still many theories about whether or not there are other enemies in the story. Rumors were also circulating that Ultraman was supposed to appear in Superman, but with a touch of originality. Rather than being a multiverse version of the Last Son of Krypton, the film would depict Ultraman as a clone, essentially merging him with Bizarro.

However, it didn’t take long for Gunn to debunk the idea. Superman villain theories, stating that Lex would be the antagonist. While Superman may not explore the concept of an evil Man of Steel in this film, that doesn’t mean future DC Universe films and/or TV shows couldn’t tackle it down the line. The multiverse angle is also likely something DC Studios will stay away from for the foreseeable future after The flash film in 2023.

It would make more sense to introduce Bizarro into the DC Universe before Ultraman, as this character would be more appropriate to bring in once they explore something like the Crime Syndicate of America alongside the Justice League. It will also be more rewarding to see Corenswet’s Superman take on different versions of himself once he’s established in the DC Universe. Hopefully more updates on the Superman The movie is on its way as they get closer to finishing principal photography.
