Dragon’s Dogma 2’s main campaign is roughly the same length as the first game

With Dragon’s Dogma 2 releasing for PlayStation 5, Xbox series X/S, and PC later this month, on March 22, I visited Capcom’s offices in San Francisco, California to play the game for several hours . You can read my preview impressions of Dragon’s Dogma 2 here, but I also had the chance to speak with director Hideaki Itsuno.

With over a decade between the first Dragon’s Dogma and its sequel, I was curious if he and his Capcom team approached the size of player offerings differently. If you stick primarily to the golden path – the main campaign – of Dragon’s Dogma, you’re looking at around 37 hours, depending on game/2845″>How long to beat, which aggregates players’ playing time for an average. Itsuno says to expect a similar length in Dragon’s Dogma 2’s main story.

“For players who only focus on things [to] browse the [game‘s campaign]”For people who want to do everything, who see a lot of things and say to themselves: ‘Oh, I want to do this thing.’ , oh, that looks interesting, well, we put a lot of effort into adding as many elements as possible for this. There are a lot of things that could grab players’ attention and for those people, their playtime will likely be much longer. »

For reference, a full version of Dragon’s Dogma lasts on average around 102 hours, according to HowLongToBeat, which means that Dragon’s Dogma 2 probably offers over a hundred hours of content to discover and play if you’re looking for it.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 comes to PlayStation 5, Xbox series X/S, and PC on March 22.
