It took a day for Hades 2 Early Access to break the first game’s record number of players on Steam.

Hades 2 Early Access reached over 100,000 concurrent players 24 hours after launch, beating Hades“Highest number of players ever on Steam.
The early access version of Hades 2 received a surprise launch on May 6 for Steam and quickly rose to the top of the list of trending games for the digital storefront.
According to Steam Database – the third-party online database that records Steam statistics – Supergiant Games’ highly anticipated roguelike game reached a peak of 79,276 players within the first nine hours of release, double the all-time peak of Hades on Steam, which reached 37,749.
However, at the time of writing (May 8), updated SteamDB charts show that Hades 2 Early Access was able to surpass its initial record number of players the following day and has officially surpassed 103,567 players, with almost 97,000 players currently in play.
It should be noted that Hades Early Access first launched exclusively on the Epic Games Store in 2018 before coming to Steam in 2019, and its historic peak was only reached after its official launch in version 1.0 in September 2020 .
The roguelike now sits comfortably in 11th place in the current top 15 most played titles, but takes the top spot as the most trending game. It is also the best-selling game in the last 24 hours.
In Hades 2, you play Melinoë, the princess of the Underworld and the sister of Hades‘, the main character Zagreus, on a quest to save his father, brother and mother from Chronos, the father of Hades, Zeus and Poseidon in Greek mythology.
We don’t have a release date yet for Hades 2 version 1.0, but Supergiant Games has confirmed that, like the first game, it will continue to add updates and introduce more characters in Early Access, all culminating with the launch of v1.0.
