Wonder deserves the new success found on Netflix

The 2017 film does a great job presenting the subject.

Wonder
doesn’t stray far from the heart of its source material by Palacio, resulting in a wholesome film that advocates for those living with physical deformities.

Wonder doesn’t stray far from Palacio’s heartwarming story of its source material, resulting in a healthy film that defends those who live with physical deformities. The coming-of-age family drama addresses the mistreatment of those seen as different with heartbreaking scenes where August, also known as Auggie, is bullied by his classmates because that he has Treacher Collins syndrome. One character in particular, Julian, a character who has his own spin-off, is particularly nasty towards Auggie, being the main catalyst for Auggie’s tribulations.

A lot of wonders the success may be due to the talent of the cast, including Roberts, but The important factor, besides its delicate subject matter, is director Stephen Chbosky. Chbosky is best known for writing the original bestselling book and for writing and directing The perks of Being a Wallflower. No stranger to faithful adaptations, Chbosky was able to channel that same energy into Wonderremaining faithful to Palacio’s work while adapting it to a new medium.

Ultimately, Palacio’s gripping source material and Chbosky’s graceful handling Wonder led to its critical and commercial success, which continues with its ranking on Netflix. The success of the film also led to the adaptation of White birda graphic novel by Palacio that serves as both a prequel and a sequel, which is expected to be released in October this year. Even if Chbosky will not return to directing, we hope that the sequel to Wonder will be just as comforting as the original.
