What is the age limit for Dune: Part Two?  Age adaptation explained

Reviews have been almost uniformly positive, with our own four-star review calling it “a spectacular return to Arrakis,” so it looks like the film will definitely be worth the wait.

With that in mind, most viewers won’t need to think twice before rushing out to see the film on as big a screen as possible, but fans with children may wonder if it’s suitable to a younger audience.

Dune: Part Two: UK age classification

The British Board of film Classification (BBFC) awarded the film a 12A certificateciting moderate violence, bloody images and threats.

This means that the film is considered suitable for all viewers aged 12 and over, while any viewer under 12 will need to be accompanied by an adult.

In its description of the film, the BBFC refers to “hard-hitting violence and intense fight sequences”.

While giving more details about the violence included in the film, he explains: “In one scene that includes gory details, a villain slashes a woman’s neck and stabs another. A man fights several opponents in an arena , using blades to slash and stab them.”

He continues: “There are also scenes of combat violence which include stabbings, shootings and hand-to-hand combat. Men and women are sometimes shown bloodied as a result of violence.”

Meanwhile, BBFC also notes some use of foul language, including “s**t” and “p**s”, as well as “references to the hallucinogenic properties of a fictional substance”.

In the United States, the film received the equivalent rating of PG-13.
