The new poster of Villain: Part One The film teases the relationship between Elphaba and Glinda. Based on the award-winning musical of the same name, Wicked is an upcoming musical comedy directed by Jon M. Chu. Wicked features an A-list cast including Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Granda, Jonathan Bailey, Marissa Bode, Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Yeoh and Keala Settle. Wicked is expected to be the first in a two-film adaptation of the musical.
NOW, Nasty movie has revealed its latest poster of the film. The poster is eye-catching because its background is WickedThe classic Elphaba-green shade of . The two protagonists stand off-center, touching their magic wand and broom as shadows loom behind them.
The poster does not include the full title of the film, however the shadows of the two women appear to form a “W”. The bottom of the poster confirms WickedThe release date is Thanksgiving.
What’s the latest production news for Wicked?
Wicked finally has a poster after years of the musical’s poster as a placeholder. Although the film was originally announced in 2012, Chu joined the project years later. Even after initial news regarding production was slow, Wicked was further delayed by COVID-19 and strikes by Hollywood actors and writers in 2023.

The characters from the Broadway hit Wicked are heading to the big screen with a cast that includes a pop star, an Oscar winner and plenty of stage veterans.
But towards the end of January, Wickedthe production reached a major milestone. As star Grande and director Chu hinted in their social media posts, Wicked finally finished filming. Both talents expressed their gratitude for the process, with Grande praising the director for his “compassion, open-mindedness, brilliance and kindness.” Along with finishing filming, a photo of Elphaba from the film was also shared.

is scheduled for release in November 2025.
Seemingly confirming this positive progress, Universal has released the first trailer for Wicked. The trailer gave a first look at Erivo, Grande and the rest of the cast in their roles, and even gave a sample of the upcoming version of her signature song “Defying Gravity.” If everything goes as planned for Wickedthe film will be released this year on November 27. According to the most recent poster, the Villain: Part One the team still seems to be on board with this plan.
