Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 22 stops Minthara from ranting about Gale in Act 3

Larian Studios has released a brand new patch for Baldur’s Gate 3, fixing pesky scripting bugs while making additional updates to the Xbox version.

Patch 22 is a relatively small but important patch as it not only introduces much-needed quality of life changes but, perhaps most notably, implements older updates from the Xbox series X|S version, which launched in early December.

More specifically, the version now includes game/news/hotfix-20-now-live_111″ target=”_blank” data-url=”https://baldursgate3.game/news/hotfix-20-now-live_111″>fixes 20 And game/news/hotfix-21-is-now-live_112″ target=”_blank” data-url=”https://baldursgate3.game/news/hotfix-21-is-now-live_112″>21which Larian says should now fix any cross-save issues as well as improve instructions for players.

Alongside Xbox-specific crash fixes, the studio also fixed some lingering issues surrounding everyone’s favorite grumpy Drow, Minthara. Recently, players have been encountering some annoying bugs that have hampered their gameplay, including an issue that would cause him to repeat his thoughts about Gale in Act 3.

The other bug was a bit more complicated and caused Minthara to break away from Dark Urge players who had rejected Bhaal later in their game. Initially, players thought this was intentional, but it turned out that there was an “issue where existing dialogue had been unintentionally enabled as part of another round of hotfixes”, which would have prompted Minthara to end relations with the player.

Luckily, both bugs have now been fixed, so no more Minthara ramblings or unexpected breakups. You can check out the full patch notes below.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Hotfix 22 Release Notes:

  • Implementation of fixes #20 and #21 on the Xbox version.

Crashes and blockers

  • Fixed a crash caused by the game trying to access the duration of a condition on a character without any conditions set.
  • Fixed conditions sometimes trying to get their duration from the source entity instead of the target entity.
  • Fixed some potential internal crashes on Xbox when pausing the game (e.g. when suspending the console or loading another game), causing it to restart when you return to it.

User interface

  • Improved messaging for sync and cross-save by indicating when a cross-save sync has failed and adding an option to try again. Also prevents save and cross-save messages from appearing for secondary local players.
  • Voice chat will no longer overlap the mini-map in split-screen.
  • Fixed the “Another player is joining” pop-up not triggering when the host had a panel open on Xbox, potentially preventing the client from joining.

Script

  • Fixed an issue where Legacy Dialogue was unintentionally enabled as part of another patch line, in which Minthara would seemingly end a relationship with Dark Urge players who rejected Bhaal.
  • Minthara promised to stop repeating her thoughts about Gale in Act III.
  • Fixed a bug that caused you to be perpetually stuck in a danger zone if you initiated hostilities in Emerald Grove and then left while it was still a danger zone.
  • Fixed a rare issue where dialogue would suddenly end when you were about to kiss your romantic partner.
  • Fixed a bug that caused you to get stuck in combat with enemies at the top of Moonrise Towers if you found a way to sneak into the Mind Flayer colony.
