Will Benedict’s love interest, Sophie Beckett, be introduced in Bridgerton season 3? Fans have spotted a key detail about Lady Cowper that could hint at her arrival.

The Bridgerton Chronicles season 3 isn’t even over yet but that hasn’t stopped fans from theorizing which sibling will be at the forefront of The Bridgerton Chronicles season 4.

Will it be Benoît? Will it be Eloise? Could it even be Francesca? It has been confirmed that one of these siblings has already been chosenbut viewers probably won’t find out until the season 3 finale. (Showrunner Jess Brownell confirmed there were several clues in the final episodes that point to our next lead…)

But with eagle eyes The Bridgerton Chronicles detectives have now come up with a pretty convincing theory that the final episodes of season 3 could introduce Benedict’s future wife, Sophie Beckett – and it all has to do with Cressida Cowper’s mother’s name, Lady Cowper.

WARNING: Spoilers ahead for Bridgerton Season 3 and the story of Benedict’s Book!

If you don’t know Benedict Bridgerton’s book, An offer from a gentlemanand the introduction by Sophie Beckett, here is a very brief explanation:

Sophie is the illegitimate daughter of an earl who lives with her stepmother Araminta (important detail – we’ll get to that in a second!) and her two half-sisters, Posy and Rosamund. After her father’s death, she is relegated to the role of servant and housekeeper. Big Cinderella atmosphere.

One evening, she sneaks out and attends the Bridgerton masked ball. She meets Benedict, dances with him, runs away at midnight, and then Benedict spends the next two years trying to find her after swearing he would marry her.

As of Episode 4 of Season 3, none of these new characters have been introduced yet… have they? Have they really been in front of us the whole time?

Bridgerton Season 3 Part 2 Trailer Teases Lady Whistledown Reveal

Lady Cowper’s first name has not yet been revealed in the TV series, but fans discovered an Instagram post from The Bridgerton Chronicles wig artist @a_hairy_business in which her first name is revealed to be… Araminta.

Alongside photos of the incredible wig work done for the series, the caption reads: “Fun fact: Lady Cowper’s first name is Araminta!” Joanna Bobin, who plays Lady Cowper, also confirmed her character’s first name in the comments. (A Instagram post of 2021 also teased her name was Araminta.)

As a result, fans are now speculating that Sophie’s introduction is imminent and could have been changed significantly from what happens in the books in order to fit the narrative of the TV series. As we have seen so far, The Bridgerton Chronicles is not afraid to deviate from the original books…

So, could Lady Cowper really be Sophie’s stepmother Araminta? Could Sophie work as a maid in the Cowper household?

If Lady Cowper is in fact the Araminta in question, as fans have theorized, this could potentially mean that Cressida is either Sophie’s sister-in-law or someone from House Cowper that Cressida may have dated. grown up.

From what we’ve seen, Cressida doesn’t have any sisters, which could suggest that her character has been renamed and presented as a new combined version of Posy and Rosamund from the books.

An increased focus on the Cowpers this season, as well as additional glimpses of their home, certainly suggest that they are poised to play an even bigger role in the future of the series. We know Cressida will claim Lady Whistledown’s identity in Season 3 based on the Part 2 trailer, but could all the extra screen time also result in the introduction of Sophie Beckett?

Of course, this is just speculation at the moment, as fans are desperate to discover any clues about what season 4 will be about. We’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out in the final four episodes…
