Helldivers 2’s first PC patch fixes crashes and improves matchmaking

The highly anticipated third-person shooter from Arrowhead game Studios Helldiverse 2 received its first patch on PC to improve matchmaking and fix some crashes, but the developers admitted that “we know there is still more to resolve.”

Helldiverse 2 released yesterday (February 8) on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, and many players have found themselves experiencing technical issues, whether with the matchmaking issues mentioned above, or even with the servers temporarily go down. Initially, while the developers worked to resolve the issue, players were encouraged to play with friends, as matchmaking was not an issue there.

However, last night, Arrowhead game Studios announced that its first patch was available on Steam: “We have uploaded a patch to Steam that should improve matchmaking for PC,” a statement from game director Mikael Eriksson, reads. “The fix also includes other crash fixes that we have identified. Earlier in the day, Erikkson had revealed that the patch would first arrive on Steam before being rolled out to PS5 “as quickly as possible”. At the time of writing, it appears that this still isn’t the case, but needless to say, a fix is ​​also on the way for console players.

Although Helldiverse 2 may have had a slightly shaky launch, there’s a lot for players to look forward to. This week, Arrowhead game Studios confirmed that the game would receive free story updates after launch later down the line. The game‘s writer Stephen Flowers teased in an interview on the PlayStation Blog: “As for the future story, all I can say is that the galaxy will be very different in a few months from what it is today.”
