Like any great survival and crafting game, you will collect a ton of materials in Envelope. As you build your base and begin crafting new equipment, and generally explore solo or in groups, you will very quickly feel the constraints of your limited inventory space. Luckily, you’re not stuck with this tiny size forever and can increase your carry capacity so you don’t have to return to your base every time you stock up on items. What you’re looking for is a set of backpack upgrades, but it takes a bit of work to make.

Increase your inventory space in Envelope is linked to the NPC Hunter. Like all NPCs in the game, you will have to find and save them from an Ancient Vault, in this case, the one titled Ancient Vault – Hunter. It’s north of the Cinder Vault and east of the Springlands fast travel point.

After saving the hunter and completing the quest The Hunter Becomes the Hunted, return her to your base to unlock her specific quest set. In order to craft each of the three inventory expansions, you need to craft the drying rack from 10 wooden logs and 6 strings, as well as the hand spindle. Use them to make the dried fur and flax needed for these recipes. Here is what is needed for each:

Small – 3 torn fabrics, 4 dried furs, 5 strings

Medium – 6 dried fur, 6 dried linen

Large – 5 leather, 1 linen

The small backpack gives you 8 additional slots, the medium 16 and the large 24.
