As Selling the Sunset before that, Sell the OC was accused of being “painfully scripted“. But how true are these accusations? In fact fake? Are the situations and storylines real or were they concocted by the producers?
Season 2 of Netflix’s spinoff of the popular real estate franchise has just released on the platform, bringing a whole host of new drama to the table. Rose and Jarvis? No more besties! Tyler and Alex Hall? Kissing in the hot tub! Polly? Still so chaotic.
As everyone surely knows by now, while most of the plots in both series are real, much of it is also heightened and sensationalized. Here’s what the cast of Sell Sunset/OC the franchise has said how true the series is.

The cast of Sell the OC have not directly answered any of the questions about whether the show’s drama and storylines are fake or not. However, the casting of Selling the Sunset talked about what’s really real and what could sometimes be emphasized a little for the series.
The essential ? Yesthey are all real estate agents, and Nothe show does not follow a storyline.
In a interview with MétroJason Oppenheimer explained, “At most, I would say in some situations, if certain things need to be worked out or if we’re meeting with a client or something like that, we’ll be asked to wait to make sure we get everything in front of the camera. , but it is certainly not written.”
He added: “Let’s say I have to take care of something or talk about something with Davina or Mary has to go get her wedding dress, we might have to postpone that for a day or two to make sure film it, but we’re never told to say or do anything, unfortunately.”

Christine Quinn, on the other hand, called Selling the Sunset in the past for “false” intrigues. During her final season on the show, she claimed that a scene involving Jason, Mary, and a meeting she was supposed to attend was “rigged.”
When a fan asked why she didn’t go to the reunion, Christine replied, “Because the reunion wasn’t real. Lolzzz.”
In response to the corruption storyline tied to her in season 5, Christine replied to another fan: “Omg bless your heart you actually think the show is real.”
So there you have it: although two shows are not scriptcertain situations and events are sensationalized to make viewing more interesting for people watching at home.
