Mufasa: The Lion King trailer

Disney recently released a trailer for the upcoming live-action film, showing snippets of awe-inspiring scenery and Mufasa as a young cub.

Mufasa: The Lion King Plot

It’s expected the film will see Rafiki tells Simba and Nala’s young daughter the story of how her grandfather became king.

According to the official Disney synopsis: “Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as a little orphan, lost and alone – until he meets a friendly lion named Taka, the heir to a royal lineage .

“This chance encounter sparks the vast journey of an extraordinary group of misfits in search of their destiny. Their bonds will be tested as they work together to escape a menacing and deadly enemy.”

We know that Taka is Scar’s real name, with the synopsis already adding plenty of additional intrigue as to why the couple’s relationship ends up being so strained by the time we reach The Lion King.

Mufasa will arrive in theaters on Friday December 20, 2024.
