Sophie Turner calls Taylor Swift a ‘hero’ for supporting her during divorce from Joe Jonas

Sophie Turner has thanked Taylor Swift for supporting her amid her divorce from Joe Jonas and praised her for having “a heart of gold.”

Sophie Turner opened up about her split from Joe Jonas in a new interview with Voguecalling the days following the announcement of their divorce “the worst days of my life.”

As she traveled back and forth from the United States to be with her children during breaks from filming her new TV series Jane, she contacted Taylor Swift to ask if she knew anyone who was renting so she could find a place to stay with her two daughters, Willa and Delphine. To his surprise, Taylor offered him his own apartment in New York for free.

Taylor briefly dated Joe Jonas when she was a teenager, a relationship that led young Tay to write “Forever & Always” after breaking up with her over a 27-second phone call. So the women had naturally never formed a real friendship, but last year Taylor did her best to help Sophie when she needed it.

“Taylor was an absolute hero for me this year,” Turner said. “I have never been more grateful to anyone than to her, because she took my children and me and gave us a home and a safe space,” she says. “She truly has a heart of gold.”

The two were spotted out on a few dinner dates at glitzy Manhattan restaurants, cementing Sophie’s place on Taylor’s team.

Although Sophie was unable to speak publicly about the details of her divorce, she addressed the cruel reports that surfaced, claiming that her alleged ‘party’ lifestyle led to their divorce, with Sophie saying: “[I’ve] I never partied.

She said: “It hurts because I really completely torture myself with every move I make as a mother – the mum guilt is so real! I kept telling myself, “None of this is true. You’re a good mom and you’ve never been a party girl.’

Sophie said she was still “in shock” at the media reaction to their split and the number of incorrect stories that resulted.

“I mean, it’s unimaginable how many people will just make up shit and post it based on a photo. A picture is worth a thousand words, but that’s not my story. I felt like I was watching a movie of my life that I hadn’t written, produced, or starred in. It was shocking. I’m still in shock,” she said.

Jane comes out on ITV this autumn and Sophie thanked the entire cast and crew for supporting her throughout the events of last year, calling them her “emotional support people” and “family”.
