Xbox President Sarah Bond has confirmed that the company is already looking forward to the next generation of hardware and aims to make “the biggest technical advancement you’ve ever seen in a generation of hardware.”

Bond talked about it during the last episode of Official Xbox Podcast, airing today (February 15) and covering the company’s plans for Xbox in the future. Although she didn’t go into detail, she did say that some hardware news would be shared “over this holiday,” so it seems like there’s something to be excited about towards the end of the year.

“There are some exciting new hardware releases that we’re going to share this holiday, and we’re also investing in the next generation roadmap,” she said. “What we’re really focused on is making the biggest technical advancement you’ve ever seen in a generation of hardware, making it better for gamers and better for creators and the visions they build .”

The podcast episode was packed with news for fans to analyze, including confirmation that four Xbox games previously released as console exclusives would be on their way to other platforms in the future. This follows weeks of rumors that a wide variety of Xbox games are being considered for cross-platform release.

On the subject, Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft Gaming, confirmed that there is no broader change to Xbox’s “core exclusive strategy” in the works. He also didn’t directly name the games, but hinted that two of them are “community driven” and the other two are “smaller games that were never really meant to be built as a sort of platform exclusivity.” It was also clarified that neither Star Field Or Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are included in this range.

It’s also unclear when these four games will release, but Spencer said the teams working on them have “announced plans that aren’t too far out,” so fans will just have to watch this space.
