A four-pack of Apple AirTags has dropped to its lowest price yet, $75

Apple AirTag is the top pick for iPhone owners in our Bluetooth tracker buying guide (no surprise), and right now a four-pack of the little devices is back to an all-time low of $75. Earlier this week, the bundle dropped to $80, a deal we’ve seen a few times since the holiday shopping season. This new discount, however, matches the best price we’ve tracked, which is $24 less than Apple’s list price. As long as you want to keep tabs on multiple items, it’s also cheaper than buying four. Simple AirTags separately, as these currently cost $24 each.

We’re highlighting the AirTag in our guide because it can use Apple’s giant network of devices to locate items. If you misplace an AirTag-equipped schoolbag, for example, nearby Apple devices can anonymously alert Apple’s system. Find my network when the bag is closed, the Find My app will notify you of this location. Since there are more than two billion active iPhones, iPads, Macs, and other Apple gadgets in the wild, the chances of finding something are generally better here than with other trackers that use crowd-finding networks a lot smaller.

Once you’re near a lost item, the AirTag uses a wireless connection called ultrawideband (UWB) for more information. precisely lead you in the right direction, displaying an arrow and distance estimate when you are nearby. The tracker has a IP67 rating, so it can survive brief submersion underwater, and it’s one of the few Apple gadgets with an easily replaceable battery. Apple alone said the battery is designed to last “more than a year” before needing to be changed.

The AirTag’s biggest drawback compared to competitors like Tile is that it’s only available in one form. Its coin-shaped design is easy to store but doesn’t come with a built-in keyring hole or adhesive. If you actually want to attach it to an item, you have to pay for a separate accessory.

It’s also worth noting that AirTags are not designed to find stolen items. They might help you, but if your AirTag moves with someone else, that person will. receive an alert telling them. This feature is intended to annoy those who might use AirTags for harassment, thereby has been technology/apple-airtags-tracking-stalking.html” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank” data-ylk=”slk:an unfortunate;cpos:12;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas” class=”link “>an unfortunate technology/2021/05/05/apple-airtags-stalking/” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank” data-ylk=”slk:side effect;cpos:13;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas” class=”link “>side effect of the efficiency of the device. That said, Apple and Google have released updates to further combat bad actors. As a little extra security against losing your stuff, the AirTag works well and this deal makes it a little more accessible. You shouldn’t worry about the upcoming arrival of a new model either, because Bloomberg report Earlier this year, a second-generation device was not expected until 2025.

If you own a Samsung Galaxy phone, we’ll note that a four-pack Samsung’s Galaxy SmartTag 2 is also on sale for an all-time low price of $70 on Amazon and B&H. This is another pick in our buying guide: it’s not as precise as an AirTag and only works with Samsung phones, but it’s easy to set up, it has a built-in cutout, and it works from same way if you are an engaged Galaxy user.
