“Those Ariana Grande music videos were weird. What the hell.”

Excerpts from Ariana Grande’s “disturbing” scenes in Victorious And Sam and cat have gone viral again after being analyzed in the new docuseries that details allegations surrounding Dan Schneider and the people who worked on his Nickelodeon shows.

Quiet on set: The dark side of children’s television is a four-part documentary series that includes interviews with cast and crew members of Schneider’s shows (iCarly, Victorious, Zoe 101, Drake and Josh), many of whom came forward with allegations of abuse, sexism, racism, and inappropriate dynamics on set.

The first episode opens with people pointing out the strange, suggestive and inappropriate scenes that seem to sexualize many of the young child actors who have appeared on these shows.

Ariana Grande’s scenes as Cat Valentine are shown right at the beginning of the episode, and people are now wondering how they could have been filmed or shown on TV.

A One of the scenes in question shows Cat trying to extract juice from a potato. She holds the potato with both hands in front of her face before making strained noises as she says, “Come on, ditch the juice.”

Another moment shown in the documentary shows Cat lying upside down on a bed and pouring water on herself after asking the question: “Is it possible for a teenage girl to drink water from the ‘towards ?” Another shows her putting her big toe in her mouth.

The scenes were deemed so inappropriate that Dare twice host Marc Summers, who appears in the docuseries, even asked, “Did this air on Nickelodeon?”

These scenes come from The cat’s random thoughts, a web series in which Cat shared self-recorded videos for her fans. The eight mini-episodes were written by Dan Schneider.

The same clips went viral in 2022 following comments by Jennette McCurdy in her book, I’m glad my mother died. In the book, Jennette talks about her negative experiences filming “The Creator.” Jennette doesn’t name him directly, but we think she’s talking about Dan Schneider.

Fans once again reacted to the scenes on social media, calling them “really bad” and “uncomfortable.”

“Those Ariana Grande music videos were weird. What the hell,” one user wrote.

In a statement to VarietyA representative for Dan Schneider has responded to the allegations made in the docuseries.

The statement reads: “Everything that happened on the shows Dan aired was carefully scrutinized by dozens of adults involved and approved by the network. If there was a real problem with the scenes that some people, years later, “sexualize”, they would be removed, but they are not, they are still broadcast constantly all over the world today, enjoyed at both by children and parents.

“Please remember that all stories, dialogue, costumes and makeup have been fully approved by network executives on both coasts,” the statement continued. “A standards and practices group read and ultimately approved each script, and programming executives reviewed and approved all episodes. Additionally, every day on every set, there were always parents, caregivers, and their friends who watched the filming and rehearsals.”

“If there had been any inappropriate scenes or outfits, they would have been flagged and blocked by this multi-level review. Unfortunately, some adults project their adult minds onto children’s shows, drawing false conclusions about them .”

Ariana has not spoken about the reaction to these clips or how she felt filming them, nor has she responded to the allegations in the new documentary.
