Battlefield 3, 4 and Hardline are being removed from PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 stores this month

EA has announced that it will remove three Battlefield titles from the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 digital stores at the end of the month.

On July 31, the PS3/Xbox 360 versions of Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, and Battlefield: Hardline, along with their associated DLC, will be removed from sale. Owners of these games will still be able to play their single-player content, but online support for these titles will end on November 7. The embedded announcement message on X also includes a link to an FAQ to answer additional questions about the removal process.

While the PS3/Xbox 360 digital versions of these games are disappearing, Battlefield 3 will still be available for purchase on PC. The same goes for Battlefield 4 and Hardline, which will also remain available for purchase on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PC/PS4/Xbox One versions will not be affected by today’s updates.

It’s never a good idea to see games pulled from sale like this. The reason is likely related to the fact that EA has ended online support; it wouldn’t be fair to continue selling games with popular online modes if that component no longer works. For those still logging into Battlefield matches on PS3 and 360, you’ve got a few months left to enjoy the adventure.
