Capcom Next Recap: Dead Rising Remaster Gameplay and Release Date, Kunitsu-Gami Demo, and Small Teaser for Next Resident Evil

Capcom Next was more succinct this summer, focusing on updating just three titles: Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, and the iOS/Mac port of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Here’s a quick summary of each announcement, including the tiniest hints at the next Resident Evil title.

Kunitsu-Gami: The Path of the Goddess

Ahead of its July 19 launch, the fantasy action-strategy hybrid will be getting a demo later today on all platforms the game is available on. The demo will also feature crossover content with Okami in the form of themed weapons and costumes for the main character and the girl. Interestingly, Okami’s items will only appear in the demo, but Capcom says that if enough people play it, those items will be available in the full game at launch via an update.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster

The remaster of the 2006 zombie game will be released on September 19th (a physical version will arrive in November). We got a first look at the gameplay and several “before and after” graphics comparison photos showing just how spectacular the presentation improvements are. The game will run in 4K 60 FPS and feature real-time lighting that changes with the time of day. Gameplay improvements include the ability to move while aiming, an auto-save feature, a better UI, and improved NPC behavior. Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox series X/S, and PC.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard on iOS and Mac

The latest mobile port of RE features improved touch controls and a new auto-aim/shoot feature for those who want extra assistance. The menu and inventory are now touch-enabled. Capcom reveals that the first section of the game is free, allowing players to try it out before committing to a purchase.

Additionally, Capcom confirms what was already obvious: a new Resident Evil is in development. RE7 director Koshi Nakanishi is reportedly back at the helm, saying, “It was really hard to figure out what to do after RE7. But I figured it out, and to be honest, it feels substantial. I can’t share any details yet, but I hope you’re looking forward to me doing it one day.”
