Luca Guadagnino’s new tennis drama Challengers has received rave reviews across the board – with performances from stars Zendaya, Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist all garnering praise.
And one of the other aspects of the film that has been held up as a major asset is the original music written by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, which consists of a number of techno-inspired electronic compositions.
“Luca said, ‘What if all the music was upbeat techno, like a heartbeat that makes the movie fun?'” Reznor explained, according to Variety.
“It’s about excitement,” Ross added, “and at the same time there’s an order and thoughtfulness to the score.”
The Nine-Inch Nails duo – who previously collaborated with Guadagnino on his latest film Bones & All – have written a number of major film scores over the years, including Oscar-winning works on The Social Network and Pixar’s Soul, and early successes acclaimed as this latest effort suggests it may well propel them to even more awards attention.

Ahead of the film‘s release, a version of the soundtrack remixed by German producer and DJ Boys Noize was made available for streaming on a number of platforms, including Spotify and Amazon Music. Keep reading for the full list of songs featured.
