Feeling lucky? You could win a free Pixel 8 with this Google Play Points competition

What do you want to know

  • Google Play Points offers a weekly program that allows users to have a chance to win a “weekly prize”.
  • This week there is a “Weekly Super Prize” and it is the flagship Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
  • There are 100 Pixel 8 phones and another 100 Pixel 8 Pro phones available, with both models featuring the Mint colorway.

Want a new smartphone? If you’re a Google Play Points member, you might be in luck. This week, Google is adding a “Weekly Super Prize”: it’s a Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro phone. Google mainly offers smartphones to Play Points users, and 200 phones are available in total. The promotion lasts from March 29 to April 4, but who knows how long it will be before all Pixel 8 devices are won, so you’ll have to act pretty quickly.

The weekly super prize is available to Google Play Points members in Gold, Platinum, and Diamond tiers, as well as 9to5Google spotted for the first time. While 200 phones may seem like a lot, this is by far the rarest prize available in the competition. There are 100 Pixel 8 and 100 Pixel 8 Pro phones available, but over 34,000 are available as Platinum prices.

More than 10,000 users can earn 1,000 Google Play Points and another 23,800 users can earn 500 Google Play Points (Derrek Lee of Android Central was able to win this prize). Then, of course, there are the 200 Pixel 8 series phones, all of which are in the Mint colorway that was recently introduced as a mid-cycle refresh. However, you might also receive the regular weekly prize, not the Platinum prizes listed.

The good news is that you don’t have to risk any Play Points to try your luck at Platinum prizes; you just need to qualify for one of the top three tiers.

Here’s some gift-related fine print that Google displays on the Google Play Points page:

  • Play to win one prize per week until Friday at midnight local time
  • Prices may vary by tier and are available for Gold, Platinum and Diamond tiers. Additional eligibility requirements may apply.
  • Prices are subject to availability and may be limited. New prices are available Friday at midnight local time.

Playing for the grand prize is quick and easy. You need to claim the weekly super prize chance on the Google Play Points page. Then a medallion will appear on the screen and you can tap it to reveal your prize. You’ll know instantly which prize you’ve won, so you don’t need to wait impatiently.

Google says prize availability is limited and may run out, but you can see how many prizes are left before you play.
