Speaking ahead of the ceremony, Tennant remarked to the Radio Times about his own experience in Hollywood: “The LA thing is hilarious. You meet all these amazing directors and producers and they all explode with enthusiasm. I think that most actors who have made this journey will recognize the journey.
“After a few days and 20 meetings, you’re like, ‘Oh, I’m about to become the biggest star the world has ever seen!’ And then you never hear from any of those people again. Nobody likes to break bad news in Hollywood. They just enjoy the excitement of the potential.”
