The film also generated the biggest Saturday gross in the UK and Ireland for a Pixar film, which is a staggering feat when you think about all the Pixar classics over the years, including Up, Ratatouille and The Incredibles, for just name a few.
In fact, Inside Out 2 had the third-biggest opening weekend for a Pixar film, trailing only Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4. So it’s safe to say that the new film is having a storm with audiences young and old.
On a larger scale, the sequel launched to an estimated $295.0 million this weekend, making it the highest animated opening of all time.

The film has gotten pretty excellent reviews so far, with RadioTimes.com awarding it an impressive four stars and saying that the film takes place against an “endlessly inventive backdrop of alien imaginings of the inner workings of a young girl’s mind, rich in color, texture and a constant stream of sight gags” .
The film‘s official synopsis reads: “Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 returns to the mind of new teenager Riley just as the headquarters undergoes a sudden demolition to make way for something totally unexpected: new emotions.
“Joy, sadness, anger, fear and disgust, who have been running a successful operation in all respects for a long time, don’t really know how to feel when anxiety, envy, boredom and l ’embarrassments appear.’

The film‘s voice casting is also equally grandiose, with Amy Poehler, Maya Hawke, Kensington Tallman and Liza Lapira all voicing characters as well as Tony Hale, Lewis Black, Phyllis Smith and Ayo Edebiri.
The rest of the cast also includes Lilimar, Grace Lu, Sumayyah Nuriddin-Green, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Diane Lane, Kyle MacLachlan, Paul Walter Hauser and Yvette Nicole Brown.
Familiar characters from the original film are joined by new emotions: anxiety, embarrassment, longing and boredom as Riley becomes a teenager. However, there are some omissions in part two, with director Kelsey Man revealing that he chose to cut the guilt, jealousy and shame from Inside Out 2.
Chat exclusively with RadioTimes.com about it, Mann said: “It’s a question of are they right to tell this story? Are there too many?
“Because the main thing has always been anxiety. And I wanted others to appear too. But they didn’t have to take it away or not have to re-start the film or distract too much – they had to help her with it. support. story and what it goes through.”
Inside Out 2 is released in UK cinemas on Friday June 14.
