the Lord of the Rings‘ Legolas comes to life in a new cosplay, which faithfully recreates the Elf’s costume and weapons. Released in 2001, the first part of Peter Jackson’s successful trilogy introduces audiences to The Lord of the Rings actors like Elijah Wood, Viggo Mortensen and Ian McKellen, among others, who help flesh out the world of Middle-earth. Orlando Bloom’s Legolas, an elf archer, plays a key role in all three films of the trilogy, and the character even returned in the final two installments of Jackson’s film. The Hobbit trilogy.

Cosplayer Alyson Tabbitha now recreates the look of Legolas from The Lord of the Rings, with its iconic elven bow. Check it out below:

The video features a look at Tabbitha before and after the transformation, with the cosplayer using makeup to achieve the general structure of Bloom’s face. Great attention to detail is also shown with the costume and props, both of which look very similar to those featured in Jackson’s films.

Will Legolas return in a future Lord of the Rings film?

Why it’s not irrelevant

When The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King ended, it seemed the audience had seen the last of the characters played by Wood, Mortensen, Bloom, McKellen, among others. Indeed, many actors from the trilogy did not reprise their roles, but Wood, Bloom, McKellen and Andy Serkis all did so for The Hobbit trilogy. With several new features the Lord of the Rings films on the horizon, it’s possible that some familiar faces will return once again.

The franchise’s next live-action film is in development The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, which will see Serkis directing and starring. No other actors have been confirmed for the film yet, but the film is expected to take place during the events of The Fellowship of the Ring. If Tolkien’s appendices are to be believed, the film could chronicle Aragorn and Gandalf’s attempts to capture Gollum, meaning both of these characters could return.

Another new installment in the franchise is expected to arrive later this year with
The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim
an animated one.

Given that Aragorn’s quest to apprehend Gollum takes place before the Council of Elrond and this is apparently his first meeting with Legolas, there is no obvious place for Bloom’s character in the movie. The hunt for Gollum is, however, only one of the new live-action the Lord of the Rings films in the works, which means it’s still possible Legolas will return. Whether Legolas makes a return or not, the latest cosplay certainly suggests that the love for the original iteration of the Bloom character endures.
