Now that the MCU’s multiverse saga is past the halfway point, the multiversal shenanigans have picked up steam, with Peter Parker’s latest cinematic outing being the epicenter of a significant multiversal event. This saw villains (and Spider-Men) from other cinematic universes visit the MCU, while everyone who knew Peter Parker completely forgot about him, including his girlfriend, MJ. With her future in the MCU now uncertain, some fans have come up with a compelling way to keep her in the story.
In an article from @buffy2ville via Instagram, Zendaya’s MJ was rendered in various versions of a spider costume as a chaotic scene of ruined New York City formed the backdrop. The costumes include familiar looks, like that of Spider-Man from the MCU and one reminiscent of pink and white Spider-Gwen from the Spider-Verse animated franchise. However, others have yet to be seen on screen, such as a monochrome version of Gwen Stacy’s costume and a blue and white version which help make a compelling case for a variation of Spider-Man played by Zendaya. With that in mind, he might find another love interest to help him move forward with his life. Here again, Zendaya’s star power, the storylines left open by her friend Ned Leeds, and the fact that MJ is a popular character are good signs..
