Here’s how Colin discovers that Penelope is actually Lady Whistledown in the books. Will it be the same in season 3 of Bridgerton?

The Bridgerton Chronicles The trailer for Season 3 Part 2 is here, and it’s very, very big reveal that will send all the esteemed members of the ton into absolute disaster. It’s true, Lady Whistledown’s identity will be revealed… But how will Colin find out?

If you have read Colin and Penelope’s book, Romancing Mister Bridgerton, then you will know how the rest of their story unfolds. However, with the series already deviating from the novel’s timeline, it could end up being very different.

The brand new trailer for Part 2 hints at Lady Whistledown’s big reveal, Cressida Cowper’s involvement in this drama and the effect it could have on Colin and Penelope’s relationship.

For those who can’t wait until June 13 to find out what happens in the books and how Colin discovers that Whistledown is actually his future wife, here’s what you need to know. And if you don’t want to know, well… stop scrolling now!

Does Colin discover that Penelope is Lady Whistledown in The Bridgerton Chronicles?

The way Colin discovers that Penelope is Lady Whistledown in the books is slightly different from how it seems to play out in the show.

In the book, Colin discovers Penelope. Before they confessed their feelings for each other, and Before their spicy carriage moment.

A public challenge is issued to unmask Whistledown, and Colin immediately suspects that Eloise is behind it. But then, twist! Cressida Cowper, in an attempt to win the award, claims the title and begins posting her false claims everywhere.

After the ball where Cressida “confesses”, Colin catches Penelope in an affair with Whistledown, red-handed, and confronts her. Then the transportation moment happens, but it comes from the two arguing rather than how it plays out in the show.

At this point in the series, Colin has no idea that Pen is Whistledown. This bomb hasn’t dropped yet…

Based on the trailer for Season 3, Part 2, it appears that Whistledown’s unmasking will begin in Episode 5, titled “Tick Tock,” and perhaps even continue until the end of the season .

In the teaser we see that a £5,000 reward has been offered to anyone who brings evidence of Whistledown to the palace. Cressida claims it, presents herself to the queen, and Penelope sets to work writing a letter under the name Whistledown denouncing Cressida’s claim. (She’s a fraud! She’s a liar! Don’t trust her!)

Colin then expresses his excitement at the idea of ​​someone unmasking Whistledown, and Eloise threatens to tell Colin everything unless Penelope confesses – by midnight at the latest! Later that night at the ball, Penelope faints and her friends and family rush to her aid.

Bridgerton Season 3 Part 2 Trailer Teases Lady Whistledown Reveal

Once Colin discovers Penelope on the show, the rest of the storyline could likely adopt a similar narrative to that of the book.

In the book, the revelation destabilizes Colin a little and he ends up questioning his feelings for Pen. Pen also can’t let go of Lady Whistledown – she’s made a considerable fortune in recent years and wants to protect her legacy. So she responds to Cressida’s claims with a new column (as we see in the trailer above).

Eventually, Colin (with Penelope’s permission and her family’s support) reveals Whistledown’s true identity to the public after Cressida attempts to blackmail Pen after learning who she really is.

We’ll have to wait and see if season 3 will cover this entire story, or if it will expand into season 4. Will Cressida discover that Penelope is Lady Whistledown at the end of season 3? Will Colin reveal Whistledown’s true identity to the public? We’ll find out on June 13!
