This guide will show you how to keep your conversation history to yourself, both on desktop and mobile.

One of the nice things about ChatGPT is that you don’t need to log in to use it. But you don’t have to trade access to your otherwise anonymous chat history for that convenience. Here’s how to unsubscribe even when you’re not logged in.

Go to settings and deselect Improving the model for all. From the ChatGPT home screen, click the hard-to-notice question mark icon in the bottom-right corner. Select Settings from the context menu, then the Data Controls tab. Disable Improving the model for alland that’s all.

Note that this will only disable model training in all future conversations you have with it on your device, as the rule is not retroactive.

Step 1: For iOS: Once the ChatGPT app is open, tap the three dots in the bottom right corner of the screen, then click Settings, then the Data Control tab and turn it off Improving the model for all.

2nd step: For Android: Once the ChatGPT app is open, click on the two horizontal lines in the upper left corner of the home screen, then tap on the three horizontal dots at the bottom of the navigation pane (to the right of your username and icon). The Settings menu will appear, and from there, simply tap on the Data Controls tab and toggle it to off Improving the model for all.
