hint, but I’m not saying it isn’t, and I’m not saying it is.

What role would Ian play in National Treasure 3?

Much of the speculation and anticipation regarding National Treasure 3 is rooted in the cliffhanger at the end of the second film, National Treasure: Book of Secretsabout the mystery of what is on page 47 of the American president’s book of secrets. National Treasure 3 should explore the mystery on page 47 and make it even more compelling by connecting it to the return of Ian, the franchise’s original villain. Although Ian does not have the depth of historical knowledge and ingenuity that Ben possesses, he is a well-connected entrepreneur and treasure hunter.

Unlocking the secrets on page 47 may be what Ian thinks he needs to get a fresh start after spending the last two decades in prison.

Of course, it’s also possible that Ian returns as a villain. He probably holds Ben responsible for preventing him from acquiring the Templar treasure for himself and sending him to prison for the past twenty years. This gives Ian enough reason to hunt down Ben and get revengethe stakes of which will become even higher if Ian also races Ben to find new treasure or uncover a secret related to page 47. Whatever his role, bringing Ian back would be an exciting way to expand the adventure. National treasure franchise.
