How much can you save at the Apple Refurbished Store?

Looking for a way to save money on the latest Apple products? Consider a refurbished MacBook, refurbished iPhone, or refurbished iPad from the Apple Certified Refurbished store. A refurbished product is like new, but Apple sells it at a lower price.

What is the Apple Certified Refurbished Store?

Before we begin, a quick explanation of what the Apple Certified Home Improvement Store is. This is where Apple sells gently used products that have typically been returned to the company because someone changed their mind within the 14-day return period or due to a defect. Before they hit virtual shelves, Apple puts these products through what it calls a “rigorous refurbishment process” and tests and repairs these products to make sure they’re like new.

Apple says every product is thoroughly tested and any problematic hardware components are replaced. The exception is the Apple Watch and Apple Pencil: if these items require new parts, they are not put on sale.

Each product also undergoes a quality assurance inspection and is cleaned, inspected and repackaged with full documentation, cables and everything that usually comes with that device. These products are essentially like new.

Strangely, finding the Apple Certified Refurbished store is not easy. On Apple.com, scroll to the bottom of the page, where you’ll find a directory of sites. Under Apple Store you will find a link for Refurbished and Clearance.

What’s available in the Apple Certified Refurbished Store?

We’ll go over what’s available in more detail in the sections below, but here’s what you can get in the Apple Refurbished Store (sometimes not all of the items below are available in a particular location, e.g. example, in June 2024, the renovated UK store). included the Apple Watch series 7, 8, 9, Ultra, and Ultra 2, but the US only had the series 9, SE, or Ultra (version 1) to choose from.

• Mac: including MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio and Mac Pro.
• iPads: Including iPad Air, iPad mini, iPad Pro and standard iPad.
• iPhone: iPhone 12 series to iPhone 14 series.
• Apple Watch: series 7, 8, 9, Ultra (generations 1 and 2) and SE.
• Apple TV
• Accessories including Apple Pencil and Studio Display.

Refurbished Apple Watch

Apple offers discounted refurbished Apple Watches in its Certified Refurbished Store.

In the US, you can get an Apple Watch series 9, Ultra, or Apple Watch SE for less than the full price.

You can save $110 on a refurbished Apple Watch Ultra.

In the UK, you can also save on an Apple Watch series 7, 8, 9 or an Apple Watch Ultra 1 and 2.

You can save £120 on a refurbished Apple Watch Ultra 2.

Refurbished iPhone

If you want to get an unlocked iPhone, you can save money by purchasing one from Apple’s refurbished store.

The American refurbished store offers a selection that includes:
