Many people are considering leaving T-Mobile after the price hike

We braced ourselves for unwanted news from T-Mobile earlier this week, and it turns out the company had instituted price increases on many older plans. The increases affect plans like Simple Choice, ONE, and some Magenta tiers, but there hasn’t been a lot of transparency here.

It’s no surprise that around a third of audiences surveyed across YouTube and websites are considering switching to a new carrier following these price hikes. More precisely, 35% of YouTube subscribers surveyed said they were considering a change, compared to 33% in our website survey.

This wasn’t the only way people expressed their discontent. 36% of website users surveyed said they were disappointed because they thought they were getting a price lock guarantee. Meanwhile, 16% of YouTube respondents chose this answer. Six percent of respondents on each platform also said they understood the need to adjust for inflation, but that this price increase remained high. 14% of YouTube respondents and 7% of readers surveyed also expressed dissatisfaction with T-Mobile’s lack of transparency.

“I didn’t realize it but oh well. Not really surprised. I think it’s time to pay off my phone and change carriers,” said YouTube follower @NehemYah810.

“Is a class action suit an option since they didn’t honor the rate me and thousands of others signed up for (sic),” asked an anonymous reader.

“They were already higher than anyone else for me,” said YouTube follower @j.wick.

Not all bad news for T-Mobile

If it’s any consolation for the carrier, 10% of readers surveyed said they weren’t surprised by these price increases given the broader trend of rising prices, with that figure rising to 28% in our YouTube poll.

“My T-Mobile bill went up $2 but my rent went up $750 so I’m happy with T-Mobile (sic),” YouTube follower @andresmiami031681 said.

“Mine only went up $2 because of a watch line. I’m better off than others I know, but right now it’s still the best value for me,” follower @jerseydevil1995 added.
