  • A new wave of rumors suggests that Samsung could ship a third Galaxy Watch 7 later this year at Unpacked.
  • The second rumor doubles down on past speculation that the Galaxy Watch 7 could use the Exynos W940 based on a 3nm process.
  • The Galaxy Watch 7 series is rumored to have an “Ultra” model in the works, which could arrive in addition to or as a replacement for its Pro model.

A new rumor claims that Samsung could launch a third variant for its Galaxy Watch 7 later in 2024.

According to leaker Kro_Roethe Korean OEM reportedly plans to launch a Galaxy Watch 7 Classic, a Watch 7 Pro, and an unnamed third addition (via 9to5Google). The tipster states that the additional variant will be “news” in the machine-translated message, although nothing further has been claimed.

Another rumor states that Samsung could provide a significant power boost to the Watch 7 series with a chipset upgrade.

The rumors come from LeGalox on X, which indicates that the Watch 7 could use Samsung’s new Exynos W940 chip. They add that the chip could offer a 50% increase in power efficiency as well as a potential 30% increase in speed.

As for the third variant, there were rumors in October that Samsung might be developing a Watch 7 “Ultra”. It was assumed that an Ultra model would arrive in addition to or as a replacement for a Watch 7 Pro.

It was also reported that such a device could feature a MicroLED display. This display is said to provide a richer color experience, including better contrast, brightness, and energy efficiency compared to other LED products.

Meanwhile, this Exynos W940 chip from Samsung was also rumored last October, suggesting that it would be built on a 3nm process instead of 5nm. In addition to possible improvements to the W940, it was previously reported that the new chip could reduce its surface area by 35%. Consumers could opt for a slightly thinner Galaxy Watch 7 if the rumors are true.

We’re likely just a few months away from the official Watch 7 series reveal, as Samsung’s Summer Unpacked could take place on July 10 in Paris, France.
