With the release of Taylor Swift’s “Tortured Poets Department” album, Travis Kelce officially made his first appearance in Taylor Swift’s cinematic songwriting universe – and what an entrance he had!
Taylor and Travis have been dating since August 2023. The couple made their relationship public the following September, just about a month before Taylor handed in her final version of “The Tortured Poets Department” for the vinyl pressing.

Is “The Alchemy” about Travis Kelce?
In “The Alchemy,” Taylor sings about how a new relationship invigorated her senses, bringing her back to herself after experiencing heartbreak. (For those wondering, alchemy is a type of chemistry that describes the process of transforming metals into gold.)
Fans think this one includes lyrics about Travis thanks to all the American football references. The pop rock-inspired track that sounds like it should be on the soundtrack of a 2000s teen rom-com sees Taylor exploring the early stages of her relationship with Travis. She also explicitly references a few memorable viral moments they both experienced.
