New Back to the future The Art of AI imagines Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr. as Marty McFly and Doc Brown, respectively. In the original, Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd played the roles of Marty and Brown. The sci-fi classic follows Marty as he tests Brown’s DeLorean time machine. However, his foray into the past threatens his existence when he inadvertently prevents his parents from falling in love. Back to the future is already considered one of the greatest films of all time, but some are still considering a reboot with a modern cast.

The company DeLorean rental took to Instagram to share AI-generated artwork imagining Holland and Downey in another Back to the future movie.

In the caption, the company explains how a fourth installment of Back to the future would be with Holland and Downey. Meanwhile, the photo shows the actors standing side by side in Brown and Marty’s iconic costumes, with the time-traveling DeLorean in the background.

Back to the Future is a classic 1980s sci-fi adventure from director Robert Zemeckis and here’s a guide to its cast and characters.

Will there ever be a remake of Back to the Future?

AI art is far from the first to depict Holland and Downey in such a way Back to the future remake, as for years, the couple is a popular casting choice for fans of the franchise. As Holland gets to the point where he ages out of the role of McFly, it’s worth noting that Fox was 23 when he played the 17-year-old character. Fox was known for portraying characters younger than himself due to his youthful appearance, allowing him to add more depth, maturity and nuance to his teenage roles.

It is therefore not completely excluded that Holland appears in a Back to the future redo. Meanwhile, viewers would enjoy seeing him reunite with his Marvel Cinematic Universe co-star Downey, although Jim Carrey is another popular choice for Brown. While fan castings are fun to think about, they raise the question of whether a remake will really happen. Holland actually revealed that a producer approached him about a possible remake. However, nothing came of this meeting, as there was no news of a remake or reboot.

The lack of a remake is not surprising, since co-writers Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, along with Lloyd, abandoned the idea of any other films unless the original cast returned and Marty was not recast . Unfortunately, Fox is retired and his Parkinson’s diagnosis means a return to the franchise would be nearly impossible. However, the franchise has had quite a long life in the form of sequels and television series. Additionally, most realize that Back to the future was almost perfect and doesn’t need a remake or reboot, making fan castings little more than harmless fun.

Depending on how you look at it, technically there already has been one.
