Den of Wolves studio 10 Chambers confirms layoffs as part of ‘changes to our organization’

It has been confirmed that 10 Chambers, the studio behind the horror shooter GTFO and upcoming cooperative shooter Wolf Denhas laid off a number of its employees amid changes intended to “benefit the long-term development” of its next game.

The news was confirmed in a statement from 10 Chambers CEO Ulf Andersson provided to TechRadar Gaming, in which he said five positions within the company had been eliminated. He said those affected were given “generous conditions and support” after reaching a “mutual agreement” with them.

“We experienced a reorganization of 10 rooms. Unfortunately, this resulted in the elimination of five positions within the company,” said Andersson. “We have reached a mutual agreement with the affected employees, offering them generous conditions and support.

“Create Wolf Den, we went from a small independent studio of 10 people to recruiting over 100 people in three years, specifically designed to make this specific game,” he continued. “Now that we have slowed down our growth phase, we needed to make some changes to our organization that we believe will benefit the long-term development of the game.”

Wolf Den was announced during the game Awards 2023, in a trailer that teased the sci-fi setting of the first-person shooter, Midway City, founded by sinister corporations after artificial intelligence transformed into an unstoppable hacking tool. The game does not yet have a release window.

10 Chambers hasn’t confirmed which roles within the studio have been affected by its latest changes, but it’s not the only games company to have recently laid off staff. Earlier today (February 27), it was announced that approximately 900 PlayStation employees laid off worldwide, as well as the closure of the London studio of PlayStation Studios.
