Ahead of Superman: Legacy, some costume details have been revealed; here’s what we know so far and what they mean for the film.

First Look at Superman’s Costume Explained

Before Superman By the time filming began, the logo had actually made its way online thanks to the actors’ nameplates during their table read. This particular version of the House El symbol is based on Superman from kingdom come by Mark Waid and Alex Ross. The only major difference is that the black of the shield has been replaced with yellow, one of Superman’s classic colors.

Based on the latest Superman update from Gunn, the photo of the costume seems to indicate that it won’t necessarily be spandex but something more resembling what Henry Cavill wore in the DCEU. Looking closer at the S-shield, there is more yellow on the outside of the shield itself, which is a new touch compared to past live-action Superman costumes. Until Gunn shares a full official look at the entire costume, the world can only speculate what the rest of the costume looks like on Corenswet.

Time will tell what the full suit looks like, including the cape and boots. But it’s definitely a wonderful first look at the DC Universe’s new Superman. Hopefully, like Gunn’s Superman As the film moves forward in production, the DC Studios co-CEO will finally share a full photo of Corenswet in the costume.
