Ring of Fire certainly has no shortage of weapons in its base game, but its long-awaited expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, contains dozens more that players can discover and add to their arsenal. The Smithscript Greathammer looks like a pretty standard great hammer at a glance, but this new weapon – found in a ruined forge halfway through the DLC – has a cool trick up its sleeve: it can be thrown. Think of this armament as a giant version of Thor’s Mjölnir, as holding down its heavy attack sends you into a spin that ends up throwing the hammer at your enemies and returning it to your hand almost immediately. This makes it a great choice for builds that focus primarily on melee enemies, giving you just a little ranged effectiveness when you really need to keep your distance.

Madam

Milady is a new light sword – a weapon class not seen in the base game – that can be found in the first hour of the DLC by exploring the first section of Castle Ensis. This versatile weapon swings almost as quickly as a straight sword, but has the length of a greatsword. You’ll sacrifice a bit of damage per hit that you’d get with a traditional greatsword, but you’ll more than make up for that with the flurry of attacks you can unleash with Milady’s spellbinding moveset. Later in the game, when you’ve found Ash of War: Wing Stance, you can apply it to this weapon to unlock its full potential as a gap-closing and quick-strike option that can be used to good effect in various types. of constructions.

The Twin Blades of Rellana

Rellana’s Twinblades are another light sword, except this one comes with the ability to use two at once. You’ll have to defeat a boss in an early dungeon and bring her Memory back to Enia at Roundtable Hold to get this excellent weapon, but you’ll find it’s worth it. Like Rellana’s Twinblades, you’ll need to defeat a boss (this time in a later dungeon) and take her Memory to Enia at Roundtable Hold to get the Impaler’s Spear, but you should definitely do it. This new Great Spear is a deadly option for builds that make good use of Dexterity and Faith, giving you great range in your melee damage. More impressive, however, is Ash of War: Messmber’s Assault, which coats your spear in flames and sends you into a visually exciting attack chain that ends with the weapon slamming into the ground to create tons of spears in the surroundings. There are few weapons in the game with this kind of talent, so we recommend you at least try.

Arm of the Blood Demon

With the right build, the Bloodfiend’s Arm has the potential to be one of the best weapons in all of Elden Ring due to its ability to deal massive damage and rapid bleed buildup. You also won’t have to do much to obtain this colossal weapon, other than farming relatively easy enemies early in the expansion. His Ash of War: Endure isn’t the best choice, but since you’ll likely abuse his unique R2 attack to do most of the work for you, your Ash of War will likely be an afterthought anyway.
